Red Rocket

Red Rocket is one of the South African companies bidding in the REIPPP tenders, aimed at supplying electricity to Eskom, the country’s public power production and distribution company. STOA’s investment supports especially five projects in the programme (three in Round 5 and two in Round 6), representing a total capacity of 804 megawatts.

By increasing South Africa’s power generation capacity, Red Rocket is helping to ensure economic continuity and essential services such as education and health, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in a country with a very carbon-intensive energy mix by providing an alternative to more expensive and polluting diesel generators.
