Patrizia Marraghini and Wilfrid Lauriano do Rego are joining STOA’s Board of Directors

STOA, an impact fund specializing in the financing of sustainable and resilient infrastructure, announces the appointment of Patrizia Marraghini and Wilfrid Lauriano do Rego to STOA’s Board of Directors. Both will participate in the governance of the company, contributing to its strategic orientations as well as decision-making on new investments and handovers as part of portfolio management and rotation. Their expertise in the development of international infrastructure projects and the operations of major industrial groups, as well as their in-depth knowledge of the African continent and strategic governance, will be invaluable to STOA, which is entering a new dynamic. Indeed, the fund has just announced that its two long-standing shareholders, Caisse des Dépôts (CDC) and Agence Française de Développement (AFD), have reaffirmed their support by planning to increase its capital by up to 300 million euros.

Patrizia MarraghiniPatrizia Marraghini has a solid expertise in the fields of legal affairs, corporate governance, and international project development, more specifically in the energy, environment, and transport sectors. Her experience at Veolia, Keolis (SNCF group) and Saur (Bouygues group) has enabled her to focus on the development of major infrastructure projects, from the legal and contractual aspects through to commercial, risk management and compliance issues.

Independent non-executive director since 2016, she currently holds mandates in subsidiaries of the ENI Group (SAIPEM), where she promotes the development of renewable energies, and in the Euronext-listed biotech AFYREN. Italian, Patrizia Marraghini is also a member of the Institut pour les relations économiques France-Italie (IREFI).

Wilfrid Lauriano do Rego With over 35 years’ experience at KPMG, Wilfrid Lauriano do Rego has acquired in-depth knowledge of the challenges and ecosystems involved in infrastructure development, particularly on the African continent. His expertise in due diligence in mergers and acquisitions, as well as divestments and privatizations, in the infrastructure sector for both companies and investment funds, is widely recognized. As a partner in the firm for more than 20 years, Wilfrid Lauriano do Rego chaired the Supervisory Board of KPMG until December 2022.

He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Ecobank Côte d’Ivoire and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Finafrica. He has also been coordinator of the Presidential Council for Africa since 2019, facilitating interactions with African civil societies, and works on the continent’s economic and societal challenges. Wilfrid Lauriano do Rego was named Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur in 2022.
